My new build, not a Mosrite clone, but Mosrite inspired...

I'll show you guys my project...
I have always loved the Mosrite look, always wanted one(or many

), but haven't talked the wife into it yet. I decided to sketch out my own design of something that captured the vibe of the Mark II. I plan on putting a GFS Crunchy PAT in the bridge and a Surf 90 in the neck. I have the body routed out, needs wood filling, sanding and paint(not sure on color yet), and this will be done... Kind of going for an Industrial/Punk/Surf vibe here, this thing will be MOStRITEous.
What do you think?

Looks pretty quirky. Nice job. I'm not a fan of that PRS looking headstock though.

Yeah, the neck is actually off a Dean, I didn't have much to work with. I'm actually going to cover the headstock with the pick guard material, with a cutout for a logo.

You kind of have the angle for the Mosrite headstock. If you flatten the edge of the headstock and put in the M points you will have a nice unique clone. I like the pickguard. The body color will show through nicely, but you will have to do rear routing for the full effect. A big hole and a bunch of wires would spoil the view.

Ah, So that's what you were telling me about. Quite unique

Hope you can post some pics of progress or when it's finished. Plans to smooth the edges of the mesh?

rc, yes I do have back routing on this, aesthetically I like to look of a full pickguard.
Chris, I plan on spending a ton of time filing the edges of the pickguard.
The plan is to to put a lot of time into this project this weekend, have it ready for paint by Monday. I want to get this done, in about two weeks I go in for wrist surgery and will be casted up for 10 weeks...

I'm in 'get it done' mode right now!
