Mosrite Ventures Build

So far (As of this posting time) I have a body blank (Not fully routed) made with Poplar and it's made with a template bought from eBay. Is that the proper placement for the bridge? I'm wondering if that's where a Tune-O-Matic would be drilled or if it's where the actual Mosrite Ventures Bridge and Vibrato (or stop-tail) are to be placed.

I think the neck pocket tracing is a bit off in this photo. Thoughts?

It's months later and I'm still wondering what people think about this.

It does look like the neck angle-to-body is too much - just from this photo.

Hey, it's only been 8 months. People on this forum like to think about their answers before they post. :)

I would make a cardboard mock-up of the neck and place it on the lines to see if it looks right. The Mosrite guitars look like they have a bit of an odd angle between the neck and body but those lines do look extreme.

Two things jump out at me. One, The neck angle. Two The tail stop holes look misaligned to the bridge holes. The than that, the project look great. At ;least those two I mentioned are easy to change if in fact they are off.

Looks to me the top needs to be moved to the right a little and the bottom moved to the left a little.

I was thinking so. Thanks, Dennis.

Heh. I don't have a neck made now, but I do have a neck template that came with the template. I haven't made a guitar fully before, but no better time to learn than in the now. Thanks, Rick.

I think I cut the neck pocket (changed from where it was in this photo) before I replied to the topic. But thanks, Dan. I do have more Poplar to work with if needed.

OK, so nearly a full 4 years later I began working on this project again; I've routed the first step of the German Carve. Nothing else is done yet.
