If you remove the acorn nuts, you can adjust the height of the bridge using an allen key. The acorn nuts are only there to keep the bridge from rocking back and forth on the posts.

Thanks! Do you recommend a particular tool to remove those acorn nuts? And is there a particular size?

Just trying to figure out what's the best kind (and specific size) tool to remove the acorn nuts.

You can remove the nuts with a socket wrench. I don't know what size, but they come in sets, metric and SAE. I assume these are SAE. You'd also want an SAE allen key set. These are also sold in sets. You should be able to find both kinds of sets in your local hardware or auto parts store in the $20 range.

I know this is an old post. But looking at your photo the E string looks like it is out of the roller (or is it). Hope you found that out before you did any adjusting.
