Hey, Aaron - Where did you get the tailpiece for the sharkfin Mo? I think I saw one of these styles on a guitar that Bob Shade posted somewhere, but not sure. I'd like to get my hands on one of those ...
wow, sorry I havent responded sooner guys. Generally speaking I use the bandsaw to rough cut necks and bodies, when I get close to what I want I then attach a template to the body and route it with flush trim bit. On the angle of the headstock on this guitar i cut off excess with the bandsaw, and finished it up with a belt sander. The Tail piece I got from Mr. Bob Shade.
its been a while since being on the forum, and I need to add in update to this thread. about six month ago i decided to redo this guitar. i made it with a hugh neck, and decided to trim it down a lot. so while I was at it, I decided to fit everything else I didnt like about the guitar, and so here's what I did.
after getting the neck sanded to a profile i preferred more I began to refinish it. this time I went with a white neck like the original instead of leaving it natural. I was never completely happy with the paint job on the body so I refinished it too.
