Ditto. ;) Are you planning to sell it, or just rock it?
How dare you presume to inject, using reproducible facts and rational thought, an on-topic discussion into a thread that had degenerated from sarcasm, personal invective, and hand-waving arguments?

Which pickup did you end up using?

i put in that pickup I made wound to 39k. i used neodymium, although i wish i used larger magnets. the pickup was loud but did lack the tone I wanted. at the 20k split coil position it was very very trebley. painfully trebley lol. i wound that pickup really tight with 44 wire.

i then pulled that pickup out and put in another one I made based on the mosrite humbucker design, but it was also 44 wire because its all i had at the time. I used two ceramic magnets I pulled out of a broken epip LP pickup. this design had a lot more low end but still has the high treble tone of 44 wire i'm growing to really dislike. it helped after i wax potted the pickup, but i still want to go with another design. something with 43 wire or 42. who knows, maybe both. I like the tone I get out of the babybucker in my mark 2, and rio grande used alnico pole pieces for magnets in that design, so that's why I was asking matt about them in one of his pickup info threads on here. but for now, until I get more pickup supplies, I'm happy with it.
