i have a '66 joe maphis model 1 that i put hallmarks in because i had to have potted
pickups. They sound pretty close to the originals to my ears but now i'm kinda
interested in trying some lower output ones. i've read that the early mosrites with
8.5k pickups sound a little bit more like jazzmaster. Has anyone out there tried
duncan's 8.5k mosrite pickups?
Anyone tried duncan pickups?

Re: Anyone tried duncan pickups?
I haven't tried the Duncans, but I've got M3 California RH-100 split coil pickups in guitar - they're dual output so you can switch between full "Mosrite" output (11-12K) and a more P-90 output (7-8K). The lower output setting definitely have a more Fender like tone, and you still get to keep the high output too. I love the versatility, especially with three of them at my disposal!
