I've uploaded my first video in a series, showing topics on guitar building and painting. The production values aren't Spielberg, but the information's there, and you can even hear me over the spray booth fan!
This first one covers a lot of basic ground, and ends up with me applying an amber tint to an acoustic body, prior to painting it in a five-color burst. The burst and clearcoat videos are already in the can, and will be posted one at a time.
We'll also talk about materials, spray guns and compressors, and lots of tricks of the trade. I'll be doing some special offsets and short scales, too.

Subscribed! Nicely done video by the way. How about smiling now and then.
Will a left handed burst look okay on a right handed guitar? (just kidding!)

Paul;
Thanks for this tutorial. You've made everything about applying the finish very clear.
How about one on mixing and thinning the finish, and one on preparing the guitar to be finished. I have a real problem covering defects. They look and feel perfect, until I put a little color on them, then all of a sudden they look like mountains.

Re: MY YOU TUBE CHANNEL ON BUILDING AND FINISHING GUITARS
Dan, I worked in the auto body repair business for over 40 years and have sprayed everything from nitro lacquer right up to todays urethane finishes. One thing I can tell you is, if you can see it or feel it it will show up in the final finish.
