I always liked a powdery (Daphne?) blue. Maybe even with a red tortoise shell pickguard? Cell tort, that is . Not the hideously photocopied excuse for tort you see a lot of these days.

A number of years ago I worked as a Pileman and I always thought how cool it would be to have an Electric Start System. But then I kept trying to tell myself that it wouldn't be so Girly if I was by myself!

On a chainsaw? An electric starter system? Nothing girly about it. The bigger saws I use are heavy enough when stock, add a starter engine to that, a battery to that... And I imagine those are the ones you're referring to. They'll tear the firngers from your hand when that pull starter gets a 'hiccup'.
Mebbe a starter system like they use on RC race cars or RC planes?

I'd like a pink one with a soft handle please. This reminds me of when my roommate boyfriend was deployed to Quantanamo Bay for seven months in 2009. Right after he left the Fire Dept. came by and tagged two pine trees telling my roommate and I that the tree had to come down as they were infested with Bark Beetle. They wanted $5,000 each. We asked a crew in the neighborhood what they would charge and they wanted $3,000 each. The two trees were about 60 feet tall and really big which is why they wanted so much, I guess.

So, Vicki and I turned to the internet and read everything we could find on how to chop down a tree. We decided we would just cut them down ourselves. We went to Home Depot and headed for the chain saw aisle. We selected three chainsaws of various sizes. About that time an employee came down the aisle and asked if us "ladies" needed any help. We told him we needed to buy three chainsaws and asked about the brands we selected. He looked really nervous and finally just said "it scares the heck out of me to see two women in the chain saw aisle buying chain saws!"

We also bought a harness and rope kit to be safe. We weren't fast but eventually we cut down both trees. A lot of people slowed down as they drove by our house. I think they were either amazed, curious, or frightened to see us in the yard working away with chainsaws. It all went very smoothly actually. We didn't let anything fall to the ground. I would tie a rope the limb, cut through it, and then lower it to the ground where Vicki would cut it into smaller pieces and put them in the dumpster. We saved $6,000, still have the chain saws, and impressed our neighborhood menfolk. The ladyfolk, well, I think they are terrified of both of us.

Remind me to tell you about the time the plumber told us the reason our plumbing was backed up was because we had roots in the septic lines and they would have to dig up the whole front yard to put in new septic pipe and clean-outs. That quote was $2,500 and Vicki and I didn't pay that either. That was right after the tree incident and boyfreind was still gone.

Say now, Sarah, that's impressive! I get queasy on the garage roof anymore! Personally, I want one with a 426 hemi, stabilizers, and full hydraulics for the boom...
