Mosrite Pickups

Postby wombat » Mon Aug 02, 2010 7:41 pm

My Celebrity has the smooth pickup covers. My 350 had the pickups with the screw head poles.
It seems to me that the latter were hotter than the former, but that was twenty-five years ago! Is this true or false?

I know that Semie always liked hot pickups in his Mosrite guitars but one big difference between the 60s and later models is that Mosrite started making Humbuckers in the 70s. I think most 350s or all of them had Humbucker pickups.

I had a humbucker put in my Mark V, and used a plastic plate so I wouldn't have to route...sounds great. Other than that the originals squeal like Ned Beatty in Deliverance.

the humbuckers squealed too. it's because mosrite pickups aren't wax potted. i've posted a few threads on here about waxing mosrite pickups.
