What are string guides and bridges made of?

Postby Sarah93003 » Wed Jul 21, 2010 11:54 pm

Tonight I was messing around with a couple of strings and I'm not sure what they are made of. The feel to heavy to be aluminum, they are not magnetic. So, now I'm wondering if they are brass that has been plated. So, I checked the bridge on my Celebrity and it is not magnetic either. The exception are the intonation screws and nuts. Is it made of brass as well?

Any ideas?
