New Paint Job

I found a Mosrite at the Guitar Center in my area and when I went to check it out it has some serious wear on the body and looks like its in need of paint job. If I do get it, end of the summer hopefully  , is there anywhere or someone that does new paint jobs on Mosrites? Its a sunburst and it'd be nice to keep it that way but it looks like it needs a tuning up.

Hi ZakJM, Don't know where you live, but if you don't mind paying the shipping, you could check with Dub trub, or Ed Elliot, or may be they could recomend some one, a lot of the guys on the forum do some really nice work, you'll just have to ask around

Ed Elliot may actually be pretty close, he's in OK right? I'm on the border in TX right next to the Red River so he'd probably be the closest

IMHO, I don't think it would devalue the instrument to Mosrite enthusiasts and collectors if it was professionally refinished by an ex-Mosrite worker. Especially someone that still does a fair amount of luthiery and high quality work. Its probably most practical to have Ed do it since he's closest to you. Good luck on the guitar, sounds like a cool project.

HayZakJM, the gun is right, Ed did work for mosrite, I think he said that he woked for him twice. Being as your location is so close to OK it would be woth the phone call to see if he would. I've talked to him and he sure sounds like a real nice guy. He.. give it a shot

Well I still gotta get the guitar :o. I'm pretty confident no one will buy it in Lewisville that shops at their GC. Hopefully end of the summer *fingers crossed*
