decal trouble

Postby Olav » Wed May 26, 2010 11:48 am

Oigun is having trouble getting a sheet of decal paper printed. We have a headstock logo for the 'Mosrite' build and Oigun has some decal paper for laserjet. His own printer chewed up a sheet and died, the laserjet a printshop in the neighborhood has (or had) did the same. Inkjet printing won't work, lines will blotch.
Anyone got a suggestion?

Inkjet will work if the decal paper is sprayed with a decal bonder sealer after printing. I use Testors Decal Bonder with no problems. The waterslide looks great and will not blotch or run. You should be able to find it at hobby shops or at ...DecalGear.com. Look under accessories. Hope this helps :)

If you have no luck with your printer, I have a woman I work with who does my decals and waterslides. She can use your artwork and print off as many waterslides and decals as you like in the size you need.

I'm gonna try another printer tomorrow. I have my decalpaper from decalpaper.com. But it seems that my printer is heating up to fast so the topcoat melts. The testors I can get locally in the hobby shop but its inktjet only. I've got good results before withe inktjet but the "star " with the M (in this case a W) is not as black as I want it to be.

Coffee anyone?

I located a laserprinter nearby and a bunch of ceramic decalpaper so I'm a happy camper.

That's looking really sharp...I'd like to have one with "Mosrite of California" on it or...
 ...or our very own forum logo! (hint, hint)...it'll encourage any koffee drinker to start asking/talking about Mosrite fer sure :D

[edit] Loretta Moseley will probably have some floating around somewhere, when I feel like it, I'll take a look at her website simply out of curiosity.
