I've got a couple of 70s necks with pearl-ish colored markers on them. Does any one know what these are actually made of?

I guess the question is: What's the material used for the pearl-ish colored markers in this Mosrite neck?

I think I've answered my questions about the marker material by doing some searching around. This celluloid probably qualifies as mother of toilet seat for it's mother of pearl-style appearance.

Celluloid is a plastic material. I think what you have is called pearloid. The same thing used on Gibson markers. It looks like real mother of pearl but is much cheaper it make.It is celluloid broken down with solvent(TOL I think). It is then molded then cut to size.
