I have a custom made Jazzmaster (with Strat tremolo...) that has Seymour Duncan Antiquity pickups in it. These pups sound outstanding.....but.....compared to my Mosrite V62.....well......you know what I mean ?
I'm having custom pickups made for this baby....basicly P-90's in Jazzmaster covers...to make 'm : "as close as possible" to the real thing I need some information .
Somewhere I read about Alnico bar magnets and # 43 wire being used....anyone got tips for me how to & what to use.....windings / resistance....10K......13K ?????
Has anyone of you tried this before....
Thanx !

Re: specs of mosrite pickups anyone ?
Kind of funny you should ask because I posted a question a few days ago asking what a Jazzmaster would sound like with Mosrite pickups. Personally I do not know what magnets they used but I think they usually went for about 13k in one of the pickups. I'm not sure which one though.

Re: specs of mosrite pickups anyone ?
A while ago, 'bought a Dillion VMD-75 with P-90-oids mounted.
'Wrote Seymour Duncan to see if they had anything truly Mosrite-ish to fit. Reply was no, but he did offer to take the installed pups and "rewind to Mosrite specs." That did not say anything specific nor say anyhting about replacing the magnets, He did think they would sound quite close. So, Seymour must have the Mosrite pup specs in house.
That said, the Dillion P-90-oids DO NOT sound Mosrite-ish (tho they are fairly nice pups).
