Thoughts on 12 string octave double neck?
I'm about ready to start the necks on my double neck project. First off I have to state I have absolutely no need for a double with the type of music I play, however they do intrigue me and I've already started the body. Since I'm not really interested in using a double neck other than the challenge of building it, what are your thought on a twelve string octave for the second neck? Naturally the bottom neck will be a standard six string, so aesthetically speakining, the 12 string octave should look pretty cool. I guess!

I'm with you there, Danny. The one on Artie's wall sure looks sweet.

Yep! That's why I've decided to go ith a 12 string octave. Sounds cool, eh?

Besides, I don't know how to play an eight string mandolin.

At least I'll be able to play it in the lower register and it will still sound high.

Good question Mel. I'll have to go down to Front Porch and check it out to see what all that configuration does.
