after a big headach seems to be good
the plan now seems to complete i have some hard time to find where miss some mm
now the neck is like dubtrub spec 28 1/8 ou 714 mm
on the overall lenght miss some mm again
i am at 1008 mm the body is shorter like 5mm in lenght need to allonge it a little and miss the lenght of strap lock (between 10 or 15 mm )
then 1008+5 mm +15= 1028 mm for 1031 mm ;40 5/8 seems to be good cause i haven't one under the hand
another thing i must do is the neck plate to see where the hole are located ;) it will avoid the hole not in the neck  and tomorrow i will beguin my template :D
Image
Image
need to replace the pups and i angle the neck pick up with an angle 15 °it is written nowhere ? or i haven't find the answer then i have copy a picture
i have take the mesurement of ring by motiersbad, tanks a lot it help me to make fit all this little world
Image
the correction made my eraser is out of order then like a teatcher i have rewritten in red
the neck more long in the neck pocket
Image
and second correction the headstock more long with the string guide at his place and the fretboard more long too
fret ZERO string guide 1/4 inch string guide 1/3 inch and fretboard before string guide 1/8 inch
Image

this one just for fun  with the blank for the guard

no much time to do , cause i have a dilemn about the headstock and i spend much time to look at pics to have the answer ;)
template ready to be saw
for the body in 10 mm it will be the final cause i haven't much more 3mm and i am too lazy to go to buy it
Image
guard in 3 mm pretemplate after it it will be made i will recopy it on mdf 10 mm with the router but it avoid a long sanding like 10 mm needed
Image
neck template upper in 3mm will be copy on 10 mm after and side view in 3mm
i have a question about the side view for me no need a big template cause the neck will be band saw not routed on the side (i haven't bit long for that in fact )it will just be a help for tracing on blank ?
Image

then headstock dilemn :ugeek:
the headstock i have drawn don't please me ,miss something and i think i have find
today*
Image

and yesterday
Image
Image

*i have change the position of the headstock in the blank more low and make a nicer volute
Image
Image

Do you think it is better ?
and with the help of my assistant i have choose my fretboard blank(not much present this days but today it rain  )
Image
the 2 first are indian rosewood
the 2 after are indian rosewood better grade
and the 2 last are macassar ebony
Image
which one do you prefer ?

thanks ;) but i am a amateurish not a pro
Oigun is far ahead
but it try to do better each time (sometimes it is not working like i want ,for exemple my XII neck is the second cause the first i have suck :oops:and i have prefer redo one instead of continu cause it will be really long to put all in the right way ,moreover something who is starting bad doesn't go better sometime cause of the lack of straight reference, need lot of jig and without precise machine the factor chance (or murphy s law  ) become highter)

i find this pics
Image
then if you extend the head you see it cross the second fret then my second placement is much better

You put amazing thought into your process. If I might offer my own observations on the transition from the neck to the headstock. When making that transition on any neck I build I never start the volute until after the zero fret. I don't think the volute should increase the neck thickness at the 1st fret. -FWIW -Terry

thanks Terry ;)
is it the way i do too but if i want vintage correct
in fact mosrite neck are very complicated (the all guitar too in fact)
and like i said i haven't one in hand just pics for réference and as i see necks have big volute but like you said volute before 0 fret is not really confortable
i am at this point only 2 hours with my little band saw :o it doesn't cut straight and it is really hard to follow a lign (i have seen the blade isn't set up well ,need to modify some parts to have more tension on the blade :| )
Image

hopefilly it is only basswood ; i have my neck to resaw too but i will do by hand with my japanese saw cause in my blank (60 mm thickness) i can avoid lot of waist wood if i resaw and have a fender neck (20 mm thick)blank if all come as i hope for sure

then i have the mosrite neck
Image
and in the other parts
a fretboard for guitar or bass normally 7mm mini after planing
a bloc of 320 x 74 X 30 mm of thickness
and a waist part
Image
that bad that my band saw deviate so much i could have a neck blank in the other part if all go wright

Do you have a drill press? There's a handy tool called the Safety Plane that could level out the back of the neck among other things.
