I will mark off the 24.75 scale first then cut the slots with a straight edge and a Japanese fret saw with depth gauge. I'll probably radius the board to 14 or 16.

hey,

nice work so far, just some advice, I had some MIJ mosrite knobs too that didn't fit either (japanese guitar parts are measured in metric, and american stuff is in inches, slightly wider)

if you have a dremel tool and the right bit you can slightly widen the inside of the mosrite knob to make them fit. it's not a fun job, but with a steady hand and some patience it'll work! :D

also swamp ash can be a little of a pain to finish because of how open the grain is, but is a beauitful wood, and in my opinion the best wood in the world to use for a great clean guitar tone! can't wait to see more, great work so far !!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

It's going to be a beauty. I've done many a small paint jobs over the years using aerosol cans with professional results. Just be sure to spray on plenty of clear coats so you don't wet sand through to the color coats and it will turn out great. Be sure and let the paint cure for a few weeks before wet sanding and polishing.

I would assume you are using ReRanch color paint. It can get get expensive spraying heavy coats of clear lacquer. You can get rattle cans of nitrocellulose lacquer at Home Dept, Lowes and Ace Hardware for around five bucks a can.

Hey that Burst appears to have a lot of Yellow. Not bad for a rattle can. :D

Looking good.
We use what we can when painting at home.
These were hanging from a new addition to the house long before it was finished.

Looking good! My kinda people - All my refins have been done just like that - in the yard, or utility room with the door open. I've had good success with Deft clear - you can pick it up at Wally World, Home Depot, etc. I advise against using Duplicolor clear - I just had to sand off the clear after about 7 months and re-spray. After 7 months it was still soft, marked easily.

WOWEE!!! ….if that ain’t pretty! I'm so glad it turned out to become a Sunburst. That wonderfully attractive wood grain should never be hidden from view …and it isn’t. Bluther, you’ve made an excellent job of showing the grain in such a subtle way through the layers of sprays. It will be exciting to see the finished job.
