Hey,
I recently acquired a set of Ed Elliott Mark V replica pickups. I fully intend to make a whole Mark V replica but for now they live in an old beater guitar “husk.” They first of all sound great but they are way quiet (like 1/2 to 2/3 the volume of my jazzmaster for reference.) This could be because of my novice wiring, but before I go and rewire my whole guitar I just want to know if these pickups are just by nature super quiet or if I should try to trouble shoot this further.
Thanks and Party on, -Josh

Re: Ed Elliott mark V pickup volume issue
How close to the strings? What's the DC resistance?
These factors play a big role in the "loudness" of a pickup.
