Truss Rod Issue

Hi Guys . . .

I want to buy a Mosrite guitar from a friend of mine but it has a problem with the truss rod. I don't know it is broken or the adjusting nut is stripped. How would I go about removing & / or replacing the truss rod? If it is the truss rod where can I buy a replacement? Any info here would really be appreciated.

The guitar was dropped off the side of the stage one night & as a result the truss rod was no longer adjustable & it rattles if I shake the guitar.

Sounds like it may be broken. Does it adjust at the headstock or the heel?
