Re: Photo's of Mosrite wiring
I'm currently waiting for some NOS caps I got through handbrake. The one that's in there now reads '2A 104'. Anyone got a clue what we're talking about here? 0.40? If so is the difference in tone substantial between 0.40 and 0.50?
Maybe I can answer that myself in a few weeks

The 104 means it's a 0.1uf cap, 10 with 4 more zeros 100,000 pf.
So it is twice the value that is normally used in most Mosrite guitars. There will be a big difference in the sound of the tone control.

Cheers Bill! So that should have an effect also with the tone control all the way up?

Re: Photo's of Mosrite wiring
No, when the tone control is turned fully clockwise, the capacitor is essentially out of the circuit. The larger value cap will make the darkest part of the tone control (full counter clockwise) darker (or muddier).
In fact there is always a bit of loading on the pickups with any tone control when it is wired into the circuit. This is why some people use no tone control at all (EVH) or use a switching system to remove it entirely from the circuit when it is not wanted.

Re: Photo's of Mosrite wiring
I'm sorry for the confusion.
Standard tone control wiring will always load the pickup to some extent.
Usually the loading is not enough for anyone to notice or care about.
Some players feel that even the slightest of high frequency signal reduction is a problem and they will either not wire in a tone control or they will opt for a switching type tone circuit that can be completely removed from the circuit.
It's kind of like stomp box switching, some pedals are designed to completely bypass the circuit while others aren't.

Re: Photo's of Mosrite wiring
Please Help!
I have questions about the Capacitor. I cant tell from the photos. Is it wired this way?
Cap Leg 1: Volume ground - Volume terminal 1 - Tone terminal 3 - Tone ground
Cap Leg 2: Tone Terminal 2
Also is the Switch Lead wire connecting Volume terminal 3 and Tone terminal 1 ?

I cant read these Schematics. These symbols are all Greek to me! Cant tell what is going on with the cap according to this.

Yes you are correct! Also the ground wire from the switch only goes to back side of the volume pot and not terminal 3 as it appears in the photo. Good luck!
