Ventures II & Mark V

Ok, before I start, I know the whole story about the Mark II evolving into the Mark V. With that being said, I am currently restoring a Mark V and posess a factory 2nd Mark II neck. The neck needs some work, and I was thinking about building a body for. Besides the obvious omission of the German carve,are the two bodies the same overall shape? I know the pickguards are different and the neck heal is rounded in the II. Im just curious about outside overall shape. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
