MKII/Hallmark Sheena/Hallmark Road to Ruin pickup info?

Postby mikethemod1992 » Mon Nov 08, 2010 5:15 pm

Does anybody know how long the MKII pickups are? (The standard black bar ones). Im going to attempt to make my own covers and pickups for the MKII model i'm planning. Also, does anybody know how many winds it would take to get me into that HOT range?

hey mike,

my guess is that they would have been lower output then the standard mosrite pickups. But if I was you I would ask Bob at hallmark or Tim at tymguitars.com since they have made reproduction versions.
Cheers,

These original pickups were wound to apr. 8K. eack. The amount of winding is determined by the thickness of the wire you are using. You can always stop somewhere in the winding process, scratch the wire carefully with a razor blade, test the ohms, then if desired to continue, spray a little lacqure over the wire where you scrapped off the coating, let dry a bit and continue.

Good luck, Bob Shade
