Supplies for building pickups?

Postby oipunkguy » Tue Dec 07, 2010 9:43 pm

hey all,

it's been a little while since I been on. I'm trying to build some pickups and i was wondering does anyone on here have a good source to get the right molding material to make the pickup covers, and where to find a good place for plastic to melt down?

thanks.
Aaron

Hi Aaron! It's good to see you back online. I think I read, or someone told me once, that in the beginning Semie used black pickguard material over a piece of wood and put it in an oven until it melted. Then it was trimmed to suit.

Here is another method that made some nice covers: viewtopic.php?f=20&t=3240&start=100
