Mosrite Kits?
Went to the local Guitar Center yesterday and asked about Mosrites. The last time I asked, a worker looked at me funny and said "What the heck is a Mosrite" I was sickened. I went back and asked a new guy. He claimed that he bought a kit last year. Mosrite kit. Real Mos body, neck pups, knobs, ect. Are they real or do I have to go back and mind rape them again?

Well, I know there was a guy in Canada that had a stash of Mosrite parts and was selling the parts in kits or individually. Not sure if he has any parts left or not.

The only things I've seen from him in a long time are the hand-wound pickups on eBay ...

Yeah those pickups look fishy to me. Not worth the money if you ask me. I got some bodies if you're looking to build one

Re: Mosrite Kits?
Ed Roman has a Mosrite JR kit for sale on his site. I inquired about it and its around $1500 or so. Supposed to get you an authentic looking and sounding JR Mosrite:
http://www.edroman.com/parts/cbgb_kit_ramone.html
It looks like he updated his site and theres a page that says that kit is more like around $900

Re: Mosrite Kits?
When I inquired about it, he was actually very cautious about trying to sell it. Basically he said that your gonna be buying what is essentially a Mosrite that needs to be assembled, and if you've never made a guitar before there are so many different mistakes that could come about in trying to create something like that. I didn't even have the cash at the time to buy it, but he suggested I go for a couple cheap kits first and get used to how they are made before buying something around $900 that could easily turn into a bad investment
