OK. Certainly anther option that I had not considered. I have used "O" rings with the control knobs before but for a different reason. I had a Tele that had some extremely loose pots on it. You could move them without realizing it. So I removed the knob (set-screw type) and placed the washer on the shaft and then replaced and tightened down the knob. This added friction to the knob movement and gave a more secure feel to any rotation made. But the placement brought up by Paul could be another solution, and as Gattonfan mentioned, it is reversable. I may have to stop by the hardware store this afternoon.
I would like to ask if anyone knows if those washers are a standard size? Of course those colored ones that dubtrub shows could add another decision to my task.

ps: I consider Danny Gatton to be required listening to anyone interested in guitar.

Hey Don, I had the same loose-pot issue on a previous Strat of mine and again also on my MIM 50's Classic Strat. I cut my own 'washer' from a felt-lined chair leg anti-scratch thingy-watchamacallit

About the standard size of those rubber washers: I got mine from the plumbing section of the store, one-and-a-half millimeter thickness:

Hay guys, I was gona say a fella gould put a dab of floresent paint on the nob, don,t drill all the way through, just dimpel it with the tip of the drill bit, and the paint will stick real good and wont chip off cause its slightly below the surface.
