Sorry about the pics, I think the lense on the camera foged up or some thing, it sur was hot today dna the humidty was really up their to. No more pics on this thred, got some parts for the mosrite project I'm messen with, gona go back to that one and continue on with that. However, I'll use the string guide in the pics on this guitar I'm working on now. It should work fine, just need to figure out the zero fret. :D

The string guide sits about 1/8" to 1/4 away towards the headstock from the zero fret. Be sure and start your scale length from the zero fret to the centerline of the bridge and not at the string guide. All the zero fret is, its an additional fret either the same wire as the rest of the frets or you can go to a size larger. Install it last after you have leveled the other 21 or 22 frets.

what's interesting is my semie made mosrites appears to have the zero fret leveled the same as the rest of the frets. I'm not sure if it really was, but it appears to be is all I'm sayin. on my johnny model, the zero fret is distinctively higher then the other frets. any about else want to chime in here?
Cheers,
Aaron

Both my 64 and 66 Ventures model appear to have the zero fret dressed down at the same time as the rest of the frets. However, I find it best to start higher and work down until it feels the way I want it. What's the old saying, you can take metal off but you can't put it back on.

Hi guys, I guess I did some thing to get your attention    Yeah, I was playing with your sugestion today in the garague' I ordered 2 sticks of fret wire, and 1 stick about .010 taller than the other 2. I figure you loose about .010 after leveling out the frets and hope fully that will give me .020 from the zero fret to the first fret clearence, and no buz. I read some place that to set your clearences up, you pres down on the first marker and your supos to have .015-.020 clearance between the string and the first fret. By the way, do you have a camera hid in my grague some place? seems like you guys know exactly what I'm doing
