Light strings and low action with the speed frets for me. My '65 is also worn down, still playable though. As far as the neck profile, my early '65 is actually fairly chunky for a Mosrite. My other Mosrite necks are skinny though. Long Live Mosrite!!!!!

How high and wide were speed frets when they were new? Let me take a guess at the height - 0.025 or so. Am I close?

Light strings and low action with the speed frets for me.
I'm all about it. Raising the action two turns on a Mosrite....and the strings are still going to be lower than any other guitar out there.
