Yeah, I spotted it too and removed the messages. We'll try and figure out a better way to deter them, but in the meantime, we will stay on top of removing them as quickly as possible.

Could there maybe be a way to have the new members copy a captcha to verify that it is a person and not a spambot.

I'm not sure, but I can tell you that some of these are actual people in other countries? How do I know? Because, as part of my day job in marketing, I've been pitched craigslist "enhancement" services that hire people in India to post ads.

I'm not sure how it works with this forum software, but if it's possible, we may have to put first time posts on moderated use, where all posts must be accepted by a moderator until we deem them not to be spammers.

Would having all members having to list their location on their profile help,
or does that have nothing to do with it???....I'm not even sure in what I'm asking :?

P.S. Also, did everyones' Avatar go "Bye-Bye" just recently  ???

Dennis,

When you add a post on the forum, you have a short time to click on 'view your submitted message'. If you allow a few seconds to expire before you hit 'review your submitted message' your post will show up without any Avatar's showing. Hit refresh or back out and come back in and they will reappear.
