Now I find THAT hard to believe.
I guess we'd all have been better off living in Japan.

Re: We need a jump start
I asked a guy at GC the other day about Mos - He said he'd been working there for 6 years, and never seen one. I haven't seen one in a store around here (new or used) since the early 80s ... Only saw one on CraigsList ...

They're around south Florida...other than Dennis' place. Craig Brody gets them from time to time, but my first exposure to a real Mosrite was way back when...Lauderdale By The Sea Music. They had several at one time.
This is ancient history, folks.
Kevin, looks like you've got the beginnings of a fully functioning guitar making shop. Kinda reminds me of some of the pictures of Semi at work in his shop.

Yeah I've seen some pics of Semie all cramped up in his shop but I'm sure he had a lot more space than a 8' X 10' shed. Where the saw and grinder is in the pics of the inside there is a lot of poplar wood air drying. I'm thinking about throwing it out so I have more room. Me and my wife plan on doing some spring cleaning so it might get tossed. Maybe then it'll be a start of a functional shop. Kevin

Yes it absolutely is Budweiser American Ale. That's some good stuff. I'm also a big fan of Sam Adams and Killians Irish Red.

Re: We need a jump start
Most of my guitar playing friends, when I mention Mosrite the first things they talk about are the skinnny necks and the super low speed frets, and how unplayable they are to them. They see Mosrites as a novelty - something the Ventures used to play - cool looking guitars, but not something that they particularly want. I think it's a certain kind of player that actually wants to play a Mosrite. Like the friend I got my MIJ Mosrite from, he had no qualms about parting with it because he didn't like playing it. But for us, it's different. I love my Mosrite, skinnny neck and all. But we're not like everybody else I reckon.

And I take that as a compliment.

And it those very things the detractors hate that I /we all love so much.
A friend of mine who has no time for Mosrites told me recently that it was a shame they looked so cool.
Then he went home to his Strat.
Tsk.

Re: We need a jump start
sorry...I was away for 5 weeks in 'Kiwi Land'
On Lower Queenstreet in Auckland I popped into a guitar shop (can never resist passing one without entering!) and decided to ask an assistant "would you be selling any Mosrites by any chance?" Heck, just for fun but to my amazement he replied: "...no, ...are they making them again?" I was staggered since he knew anything at all... so there you are.
How y'r doin' mates? (Kiwi greeting...).
I had a great time Down Under and now must adjust to European life once again
Cheers, Paul
