Ramones display
A few years ago @ the Hollywood Guitar Center walk of fame ,there was a Ramones display with a very strange (almost Tiesco) style Ventures II in the window....anyone else seen it or know what it was?

Re: Ramones display
Hey Johnnyboy--
I do remember that display, is it still there? The Guitar Center RockWalk museum is a confusing place, they have some really incredible original stuff in there (like Keith Moon's double-bass drum kit) and they had Hank Garland's Stromberg and original Byrdland in there for a while, but then they also have some really cheesy stuff like you mentioned, mostly autographed stuff by famous rock stars that doesn't make any sense, like Les Paul signed Stratocasters and things like that. I can't remember exactly the guitar but i do remember it was just a guitar that they had the Ramones autograph.

I don't think it's there any more...oh well. Also ebay has a red Ventures II ( kinda beat up) for $5,000. kinda steep ...I'll wait for Hallmark to put out the sheena model. By looking at the pix of your guitar geek festival I'm sorry I missed it looked really cool. John

Re: Ramones display
I'm looking forward to the sheena model to come out too. When I talked to Bob Shade I asked him about those and he told me that they will be in production at the beginning of summer and was going to be available in blue with a white pick guard and white with a black pickguard and were going to be priced somewhere around $799. So if I don't like the sound of my parts rite I'll sell it and get me a hallmark.

Re: Ramones display
The guitar that was at the Rock Walk was Johnny's custom Mosrite that Semie built for him back in the 80's, to my knowledge, it's still there and was listed for sale on Guitar Center Hollywoods vintage site, years ago, along with Johnny's gold VII backup guitar, for the low, low price of $25,000.00 each. There was also some ripped jeans and a few other things in the display. It is all white, with a black "sharkfin" pickguard, one slanted pickup with no pole pieces and, no tone knob. The gold guitar got sold to a friend/fan of Johnny's on the east coast and, was used by Filmore to copy the color for the gold signature models. When Johnny died, Guitar Center brought the white guitar out of display and placed it on the sidewalk where the Ramones handprints are in the cement, and took some photos. As for a Teisco on display there, maybe there is, I've never been there. Maybe someone on the west coast can get us some photos.

And the WHITE ONE was the late 80s Model
that was used in the 1990s MTV Video which
was called: "I Don't Want to Grow Up."

Tho gold guitar was sold to a friend that so far wishes to remain off the forum here, perhaps he'll join.
