Glen Campbell - Hava Nagila!?!

Postby MWaldorf » Fri Jul 20, 2012 12:50 am

I saw a newly released documentary about the song Hava Nagila, its origins and history. Notable artists interviewed included Harry Belafonte, Connie Francis, and Glen Campbell, who recorded Hava Nagila as the flip side to True Grit. He even played a few bars on a Ventures model Mosrite!

No, MBP is not in the film, though there's a brief clip of Dick Dale's version, the inspiration for ours.

Thanks for sharing this interesting documentary, Mel. I always enjoy playing the rhythm part (our band playes it Spotnicks' style). Hava Nagila...a celebration of life! :P

Blush...been playing the melody line for decades...and never knew what it meant or symbolized.

Thank you for the link, Mel.
