The Count 5's "Psychotic Reaction" - bass is a Joe Maphis

Postby Edward Lopez » Sat Oct 22, 2011 7:16 pm

I did a search first but the search terms "The Count 5" and "The Count Five" were ignored. So here are two sources to see their bass player using a Joe Maphis model. There are several videos showing them lip synching, a pretty bad job too! The videos are of the really low resolution and they rarely show the bass player. But the still photo versions shows him for 3:08!

Thanks for the clarification, it was a comination of low resolution and old eyes! ;)

The guitar is a Joe Maphis. The bass looks like a Framus. The other guitar is a Danelectro twelve string also known as a Danelectro Bellzouki.

I'm so embarrased! Of course you can tell that the bass player is behind the Maphis guitarist by his finger positions! I guess I got too excited at finding a photo that didn't seem to have been posted before.

What were they putting in the water in Forest Hills, NY? All of The Ramones, Leslie West(in video and Mountain) and even Burt Bachrach all went to Forest Hills High School! Great song and great post Brutus.

I didn't recognize any of the guitars they were playing.

The bass is a Hofner . The white guitar looks like a Les Paul Jr. with P90"s and a Bigsby.
