John Entwistle - '65 Ventures Model Bass

Postby Bushers » Thu Sep 25, 2008 5:54 pm

I was watching a Who documentary last week and spotted John Entwistle playing a '65 Ventures Model Bass. Apparently from this site, they say he used it;

1965 Mosrite Ventures bass:

:As seen in promo video for The Kids Are Alright.
:Used on stage (unknown time period).
:Reportedly used on The Who Sell Out studio sessions.

Click on the link for The Kids Are Alright to see it in action!!

Theres a picture of him on that site with it too;

COOL! Kinda has that British Invasion sound. :lol: Where's Dennis? :shock:

As for the bass in the video, something just isn't right. The pickup's and pickguard are not Mosrite. I can't read the name on the headstock, but I'm curious if it is in fact a Mosrite bass or is that a clone?

Actually, this was already posted on this very Thread :shock: .

.......darn! I'm Good!! 8-) :roll:

p.s. John never played a Bass that he didn't modify. It IS a real
'63 or'64 Bass with the oversize lettering of "The Ventures" and
the big "M" of mosrite is to the left of the E and G strings. He modified
the Bass with Rickenbacker Pickups and a changed P'Guard. :mrgreen:
make the Mos' of it, choose the 'rite stuff.

Dennis, can you bring forth the link so our viewers don't have to start a search to find out what you are referring to.
