Keith Morris started as the 1st singer for Black Flag. He went on to form the Circle Jerks. Currently, he fronts a band called Off! The guitarist is playing what looks like a Univox, maybe? He maybe playing a clone here, but there is a clip on youtube of these guys on Carson Daly & he looks like he's playing a blue Mosrite.
This video combines 3 of my favorite things; harcore punk rock, skateboarding, and a Mosrite (clone).
Here it is. You Ventures fans may wanna put in your ear plugs

Yup, that's a phase 3 Univox Hi flyer

. In the Carson Daly video it's also a Univox Hi-Flyer phase 3. You can tell by the Jag style vibrato and the off yellow humbuckers. This stuff ain't half bad! It's like being back in the 80s
I love the old Black Flag stuff with Keith singing

I dig it. I was too young to see the Mighty Black Flag. However I was able to see Keith and Henry do the Rise Above Tour. And with seeing that band play Black Flag songs, and then seeing what's being called the misfits w/ Robo and Dez. I've seen at least 4 members of Black Flag, singing/playing Black Flag songs.
So it's almost like seeing Black Flag, just not quite!

Saw Black Flag a twice when I lived in SoCal back in the early 80's, once at Club Lingerie and the other time with the Ramones and Minutemen at the Palladium. Same show as on the cover of Henrys book "Get in the van". The photo on the cover was taken after most of the crowd had dispersed, as I recall. Absolutely crazy punk shows in LA during the 80's. Henry was at the NAMM show signing autographs in the Shure Microphones booth. Line was the longest on I saw at the show. Probably at least 150' long. Henry is a very entertaining performer.
On another note, SST was run by a friends brother in law, Joe Carducci, and as I recall, was partially financed by his parents. They are very respected doctors in my hometown of Naperville , IL. Joe wrote a book called "Rock and the pop narcotic", very interesting book on rock history. He also wrote and produced a movie, forget the name. About a band from Elgin, Il, bands name was "The Inmates"( I think). Elgin has a very well known mental hospital, and Joe has an interesting sense of humor.

Cool, I'll have to check that out. I think it's a shame that Henry doesn't seem to want to play music much anymore. It's not even something he talks about during his spoken word shows. Well...I'm sure he does want to, it's just not something he's doing right not!
As far as SST guys stories who I thought was interesting and I wish WOULD write a book- Mugger! The guy is apparently independently wealthy from investments that he made when SST bought him out. And from everything I've read/heard of him. He was one of the most obnoxious characters involved w/ the Black Flag stuff.
