Mosrite Gathering

Postby Sarah93003 » Fri Oct 23, 2009 9:43 am

I'm wondering if there has been, in recent times, a gathering/jam session of Mosrite forum members. This year I have gone to two Gretsch gatherings that spanned a weekend and it was great fun. Essentially, a room full of musicians who love their Gretsch guitars jamming together. The jam consisted of a stage (or two) with drums, keyboards, bass players, harmonica players, guitar players, etc. We just drifited in and out and played songs all weekend long.

I know it takes a lot of work to organize an event like this and with folks spread all over the world you really need more than one. But until that happens, it always starts with just one. So, I am wondering if there is enough interest here to try to pull together a Mosrite Jam. It would be great to know the geographic demographic of the members here and try to pick a location that the most people would be able to attend.

Does anyone else have an interest in this? I would certainly put forth the effort to pull one together. What say ye?

Hey Danny, I'm aware of Deke's guitar festival and that's not the type of gathering I'm talking about. I plan to attend the Guitar Geek Festival coming up as well. I'm talking about a gathering specifically for the folks of this forum as well as anyone else who'd want to attend where we get together and jam all weekend long. It wouldn't matter the skill level or type of music that you play. Anyone who wants to could join in.

The ones I've attended have been specific to Gretsch, but, we visited with each other all weekend long, admired everyone's gear, got up and jammed with others whenever the mood strikes, had meals together, and basically hung out all weekend long. It was not a show, but rather a weekend long jam. It was a blast and memories I'll always have.
