Here is a photo of of The Ventures and Canned Heat in Mexico City why Mexico City?
I have no idea, some kind award I guess. No real Mosrite tie in I just thought it was a great photo. I love how the Ventures look like Russian mobsters and how Canned Heat look like they might be tripping. Both bands just had hits, Hawaii 5-0 and Going Up to Country and also Lets Work Together ( i think). Looks like a good time.

Thank for the info DTM. I wonder if Mel had a hand in getting Canned Heat on Liberty? I think yes. Can anyone name the mystery member up there with The Ventures? As a aside it's sort of a bummer that Nokie didn't play on the 2 biggest hits of The Ventures.

Are you referring to their Keyboard Player at the time, John Durill ?

As a aside it's sort of a bummer that Nokie didn't play on the 2 biggest hits of The Ventures.

OK, if you are referring to WDR 1960, I'm glad he was a hired gun sort a speak as a bass player, only to resurface
as a talented 'Lead' style guitarist. And I can only go by the albums that I got from my older cousins back then,
but even Wikipedia pretty much has the same conclusion......
Hawaii Five O? Yeah, He was gone by then in which he says his love was in to Horses and Horse Racing, but I
still wander (--------) with the fallout between Mosrite and the Ventures....and I will leave it at that for now....
