I'll be seeing him again soon:actually shared a bill with him last night. I was not with the Ruins, but playing solo with my biscuit-bridge, and Billy and I only had seconds to talk.
Truth to tell, I'm a little curious myself. Does he consider sunburst to be natural? He has different names for everything than the rest of us do. His group, The Varmints, were great last night by the way.
I was in the Varmints for five years once.
I'll grill him and get you the facts!

This is some cool info, I would like to know to. I remember reading back in the CBGB days John met Lou Reed, one of his heros. And Lou said something along the lines of "don't use that mosrite, you should use a Rickenbacker" and John came back with mixed feeling about Lou after that, lol.

Yeah, Lou told him he was using the wrong guitar, he was never known for saying nice things to people. Lou has a bit of a rep for his attitude, but he has written some great stuff. I say Johnny is way cooler.

agreed. I watched the too tough too die documentary again last night. man, there's something magically to hear all those old tunes again live. specially, with the sound of CJ's call off "1,2,3,4!!!" in the dark with nothing but the glow of the marshall amps in the background. Punk Rock dude, PUNK ROCK!

Yes, he did! I know this has come up before and I didn't feel the need to start a new thread just for this photo, just wanted to share so I figured I'd tack it on here since it came up in this thread. I recently acquired about 600 photos of Sonic's Rendezvous Band. He's got the Rick in most of the pics but here's one with the Mosrite.
