I spotted something very interesting as I was re-reading through Semie's interview with Ton Wheeler. Semie stated that in order to get a cash advance from Kustom, that he had to sell the all of his patents and "trade names" to them. He then said that he could not complete the contract from his end, something to do with Kustom changing ownership, and the result was that he lost everything. Since that took place in the very early seventies (or late sixties), what exactly did he have left to sell to the japanese? Did he actually sell them rights to a name that he no longer had rights to himself? AND, if that's the case, is Loretta's lawsuit aimed at the wrong people?
It gets more confusing the more I learn. By the way, I'm quoting from the 1982 edition of "American Guitars" by Tom Wheeler.
