I have to agree with the line-up on that "Diamond Head" clip......I still like the way Nokie plays bass the best, but also the lead.....I was just listening to the "Surfing" album in the truck today, and feel that it is in the top several albums they made, along with "The Ventures Knock Me Out", and "The Fabulous Ventures".....
It's funny how you like some things from the past the best..like the 1965 Ventures, the 1956 New York Yankees.....lol........
Thanks for the clips......I never saw that one from the dance club before....too bad they spent all that footage on the girls dancing instead of on the Ventures....lol....... :)

There's the Beloved Invader video from 65 in BW faeturing a concert in Japan - it shows up on ebay quite often. 82 mins of amazing footage with Mosrites. Youtube has several excerpts from this video.
Also, most if not all of the Surfin album was recorded with Nokie doing the lead work on a Jazzmater.
BTW, there's another one from the same Shindig show with the Ventures playing a grossly shortened version of Caravan.

Those were inndeed the days. In Space, Surfing, Telstar, WDR2, Fabulous...indeed.

Thank you for the link.

Anyone play the "nearby" Hank Marvin doing Apache on the Shadows' final tour? Wow.
