If a cloner can add his two cents, I have always kept a few different guitars available. They all have their individual feel and sound, and I think of them as sonic crayons. What kid would want a box of all one color?
We could probably start a thread as to what color each guitar represents, but I will leave that to the "thinkers" out there.

Speaking of colour, I have guitars - yes Mosrites included - of the same model and make with no difference at all between them except for the colour. Sometimes I stand back and wonder why I pay all that money for nothing more than a coat of paint.
Anyone else guilty of this ?
Bill.

Yeah, I don't know how that happens. Last year I looked at my gang and somehow they were all sunburst! I did not plan it that way at all. There is actually one missing from the photos. Happily, I can say I've added more color to the herd.

Re: How many of you play ONLY a Mosrite?
I have the same problem with getting repeats sometimes, slowly working on it. Unloaded one of the Melody Makers but still have two. Still sitting on a few Crestwood/Wilshire style as well and many similarities amongst the Gretsch family. Then of course there are the Mosrites and Hallmarks, most being very similar if not the same, ahh, and still looking! You gotta have color variations though, right? I mean, one can't play a red guitar while wearing a red shirt, hmm, maybe that's what makes sunburst so popular? Sarah, I'm surprised you didn't tell me about your Synchro when I sent you the pics of mine. Any chance you could send me a larger picture of yours?

Hey Tommy. I didn't know if it would interest you as it's a 2004 model. Email and pics are sent though!

Re: How many of you play ONLY a Mosrite?
I use only Mosrites when playing live, and when playing electrics in studio. For acoustics I've used Martins lately.
So I'm pretty much a Mosrites-only guy. When I want to excercise with Shadows backtracks, I usually choose my 80's MIJ Strat, that is one exception.

This concludes my report from outer space. Now, back to studio!

The Mk I gets more playings than any others, but 'can't even begin to claim to be primarily a Mosrite picker...mea culpa(?).

Re: How many of you play ONLY a Mosrite?
I play my Mosrites almost 100% of the time, including Mosrite acoustics. In fact, I prefer the Serenade (glued-on neck) to my Martin. I do not play my Celebs or the Combos all that often though, opting for the Ventures models most of the time- especially a well-used 67 model (my very first Mosrite from 1982) and a 65 model. The Mosrites that I tend to stay away from are the dbl necks - I can count the number of times I have played them with my fingers. One of these days, I plan to put up pics of my fairly extensive Mosrite herd.
Once in a blue moon, I play the others (including a Hitchhiker, Nokie Teles, Wilson Bro VM110,...)
I actually like the speed frets a lot, enjoy the luxury of using my thumb to fret the 6-th string when needed and can still bend strings without much of a problem.
Mosrite forever!

Re: How many of you play ONLY a Mosrite?
If ya count my Sheena model from Hallmark, I only own Mosrites electrics. I had the 1st 3 guitars below when I went & got the SG off the wall one day. It didn't even hold a match, let alone a candle to the Mosrites. I sold it for $1k & bought the Sheena.
In order of purchase:
1) Mosrite Ranger
2) V88
3) Stereo 350
4) Hallmark II in Johnny Blue
5) Danelectro '66
6) Celebrity III
7) Hallmark Gospel
8) Serenade
9) Eastwood 300
