Thanks, Handbrake for a nice report.
Yeah, those are the usual Ventures songs which I am more familiar with. Hope someone video taped and put them on Youtube.
My daughter has done some video taping for The Ventures last year's concert in Chicago.(5/17/08) Just in case you miss it, here is the link:

Comparing the titles of the tracks on the new cd to those on the set list of the Two Car Garage World Tour, reveals that only a couple of the same songs are found to be on both. This makes me wonder whether the 7 Ventures-only tracks on the cd are freshly recorded ones or not. My hunch is they’re not but I could be wrong of course.
Last year I discovered that about 14 fairly recently re-recorded Ventures hits had been released to music download sites only. These recordings appear to be alternative arrangements/mixes, most of which feature the Saxophone rather prominently. (I bought all and used them for my homebrew compilation cdr naming it “SAXY VENTURES!” heh, heh).
My calculated guess now is that some of them could quite well be making their first appearance here on this newly promoted cd “TWO CAR GARAGE”.
I’ll have to wait and see when I have the cd at hand but in the meantime I’m anticipating that the 7 tracks by the Ventures could quite possibly be any of the following:
2. Surf Rider (re-rec. +/- 2000)...web release 2005…SAXOPHONE ARRANGEMENT/-MIX
3. Rebel-Rouser (re-rec. +/- 2000)...web release 2005…SAXOPHONE ARRANGEMENT/-MIX
4. Wailin' (re-rec. 2002, live and studio)…both previously released on cd
6. Let's Go (re-rec. +/- 2000)...web release 2005…SAXOPHONE ARRANGEMENT/-MIX
7. Tequila (re-rec. +/- 2000)...web release 2005…SAXOPHONE ARRANGEMENT/-MIX
8. Needles and Pins (possibly the previously unreleased 2002 Don Wilson –live- vocal?)
11. Wild Weekend (rec. 1999)...web release 2005…SAXOPHONE ARRANGEMENT/-MIX
12. California Sun (rec. 1999)…previously released on cd
13. Tall Cool One (re-rec. 1999 and previously released on cd) SAXOPHONE ARRANGEMENT/-MIX
14. When You Walk In The Room (possibly a recent Don Wilson –live- vocal?)
15. Wipe out (re-rec. live 2006)…previously released on cd
16. Road Runner (re-rec. live 2003)…previously released on cd
17. Black Is Black (re-rec 1999 instr. and Don Wilson vocal)…both previously released on cd

Very nice and thorough analysis.
I don't know about The Ventures but I know Nokie still records new CD freshly every year. Normally, he would go to the Chet Atkins Appreciation Society event in Nashville in July and stop at nearby recording studio (run by Andy Mosley's son, Mark Mosley) to record his new CD.
Speaking of Saxophone, we all remember Duane Eddy and his two Sax players Steve Douglas and Jim Horn. I think guitar and saxophone mix quite well. Once Nokie played a concert in Canada. For one of the number; "Hawaii Five-O", he played together with a local high school brass band. It sounded so amazing that Nokie was so impressed with the sound effect. He wanted to see it twice when we were viewing the concert DVD together in his RV.
Nokie also played with a saxophone player; Paul Biondi once in awhile in concerts. I met Paul first at Nokie's 72th birthday party / concert and was very impressed. Paul is really a great saxophone player. He played with Nokie, Tommy Emmanuel, Richard Smith in 2007 CAAS concert.

Nice photos, great camera work. Thanks.
Don't know who is that saxophone player, but I know he is not Paul B.

Re: The Ventures in Seattle
Hi all, the sax player is Washington State Lt. Governor Brad Owen. He joined the stage just for Surf Rider. After the song, he took a little heat from constituents in the building who yelled out "Balance the budget!" and other such things. He shrugged it off, saying he'd seen uglier crowds that this.
My favorite heckle from the crowd that night was someone much further back in the hall who shouted, "More reverb!"
Hey Desert Surfer, your YouTube channel has a lot of great stuff. Thanks for the link.

As promised, TWO CAR GARAGE cd update:
Mine arrived today from Blue Horizon Records, Tacoma WA. Many of the Ventures tracks are earlier studio recordings, re-mixed so you can hear more of Dino Soldo’s saxophone. The tracks are as follows:
1. I Hear You Knockin’- Keep a Knockin’- vocal, joint effort by members of both bands.
2. Surf Rider- Ventures recording 2000, previously released in mp3/wav format only -on the web during 2005.
3. Rebel-Rouser- Ventures recording 2000, previously released in mp3/wav format only -on the web during 2005.
4. Wailin’- Wailers (duh).
5. Out of Our Tree- vocal, Wailers.
6. Let’s Go- Ventures recording 2000, previously released in mp3/wav format only -on the web during 2005.
7. Tequila- Ventures recording 2000, previously released in mp3/wav format only -on the web during 2005.
8. Needles and Pins- vocal, joint effort by members of both bands.
9. Beat Guitar- Wailers.
10. Dirty Robber- vocal, Wailers.
11. Wild Weekend- Ventures recording 1999, re-release (previously released on cd “WDR 2000”), here with truncated fade out.
12. California Sun- Ventures recording 1999, re-release (previously released on cd “WDR 2000” and “Your Hit Parade II…”).
13. Tall Cool One- Wailers
14. When You Walk In The Room- vocal, joint effort by members of both bands.
15. Wipe Out- Ventures recording 1999 (with Bob Bogle on lead guitar), re-release (previously released on cd “V-Gold”).
16. Road Runner- Wailers.
17. Black Is Black- vocal, joint effort by members of both bands.
18. Louie Louie- vocal, Wailers.
Yup, familiar tunes and sounds -but great! "Black Is Black" is the real surprise here; -gongs/tubular bells, organ, sitar and all! Excellent version, cool.

and I'm also not getting the page to see Don's "Wilson VM-100 Model." Clicking on the link gets me a Windows sign up page for e/mails etc...
