Entwistle "Mod" Mosrite Sighting

Postby B52 » Fri Aug 07, 2009 2:00 pm

Happened to be watching the Who's 1979 "The Kids Are Allright" movie on an old video recently. Movie finishes, credits roll, end of the credits finish, and up pops a "music video" of the Who doing the song "The Kids Are Allright" out in a grand urban park in England. And there with a couple of neat closeups is John Entwistle playing a really "mod-ed out" Mosrite Ventures bass. White body, black headstock, with a super customized black pickguard covering lower and upper horns and covering down to the bridge. Non-mosrite knobs and non-Mosrite pickups. The song the "Kids Are Alright" was released in 1966 and the Who was in their early "Mod" stage, and this Mosrite bass was as hip-Mod as Mod could be. Really cool and sleak. Don't know if this piece is on the DVD version. Check it out if you're ever around the video.

#V0231 1971 Mosrite VI (sunburst)
#A0150 1972 Mosrite 350 (non-stereo, chocolate brown)
#K0005 1973 Mosrite 300 Mono (single pickup)
1986 "Partsrite" Mosrite VIII (California Grape): collected all original hardware; 1966 kluson tuners, 1966 trem, all vintage original nut, neck screws, gromets, knobs, white non-exposed post pickups (NC); just gotta get the right person to assemble (someday).
