It's actually $160 for the set of five fonts. What can I say but good fonts don't come cheap. House Industries has some great fonts that you'd recognise from major advertisers as well as others that conjure moods very well.
Oy vey - it's MESHUGGA BEACH PARTY - The world's premier Jewish Surf Music Band!

What? Couldn't tell the logo is a link? So click here, what's the hold up? http://www.meshuggabeachparty.com

OK.....With that said, for the set of 5 Fonts posted for that price, how can you go wrong?

Not to belabor the point, but the House fonts are made for professionals to professional standards. To bring this around to the forum, this is not unlike the cost premium of a Mosrite over, say, a Dillion.

Studio 5 and Woody Woodward are listed as art directors on most of the Liberty albums. They could have made the logo.

In the Ventures book, there's a page or two about the origins of the logo. The type style was taken from a movie poster.

I'll try and look it up, if I can find my copy of the book.

I have my copy of the Ventures book at hand once again after having loaned it to a friend so I can quote from it for us. Here’s how on page 70 Josie Wilson explains the logo:

“After I was settled in my new office, Scott Douglas [a.k.a. Douglas Langley] began coming up for occasional visits. During one of those times, he was doodling on a piece of paper and came up with The Ventures logo in the staggered lettering that they have used ever since…The font that Scott used for his logo was obviously lifted from DIG, a popular teen magazine that carried ads for the latest Liberty releases as well as an occasional article on The Ventures”.
Just my thought: perhaps these fonts are in the public domain …who can tell?

[edit; just found this link of "The Font Bros", they have a font that comes pretty close! http://www.fontbros.com/cgi-bin/commerc ... =HAFO-GENB ]
