this is a really interesting thread. Since I know nothing about these types of amps, I'm learning a lot :D

where would you guys place a 60's standel amp in this mix? good or bad for surf music?

also, anyone ever used a "surf Box" ???

Have no answer for you on this one Aaron but we'll wait for some of the "Surfer Joe's" to come in when they're done surfing for the day :mrgreen:

Don't know about surf but Standel made a big mark in early rock and country. Chet Atkins used only a Standel 25/15 from the time he got it in the 50's until he no longer recorded (late 1990's). He did not use it on the road. Scotty More used one also.
