Tony Hunt Pro Stereo, Gretsch Prototype

Here is a pic of my Tony Hunt Pro Stereo guitar. It's an incredible player and a beautiful work of art. I recently got it from Mr. Hunts neighbors' son, along with his telephone number. I spoke directly with Tony and he shed some light for me. It's purple mother of pearl and he completed it as a prototype for Gretsch in 1980. He told me it was pitched as a sister guitar to the White Falcon. It has a pelvic pad on the back side and cool pinstriping. Gretsch sent him the pickup hardware and he wound the pickups, they are extremely hot, and there is a 'boost' mode, which is amazing. No tone knob, just a vol for both pickups. I love how it looks like a mirrored Ventures model shape. He told me that it had been around the world and played by many famous people. He mentioned that Chet Atkins did not like the guitar. Also he jokingly stated that he was going to get a Hunt guitar because he knows the guy that makes them. He also told me about Semie's great sense of humor and that Semie was his very best friend. I cherished the opportunity to speak with him. If anyone has any more info on or stories about this guitar please PM me. Thanks all! Enjoy.
