Finished my Reid And Son's (RAS) 12 String Stratocaster Kit

Postby panther » Wed Feb 05, 2014 6:59 pm

I bought this kit 2 years ago, and finally got busy working on it about 3 weeks ago.
I'm very impressed with the quality. I thought the PUPS were kind of cheap. But after setting up the Guitar, and intonation, action, Pick up height. It's sounds really nice. The kit cost Under $100.00 from eBay. An additional $50.00 in materials to finish it. I bought it to attempt a build. It turned out very nice.
I wanted to post this first, will post photos later this evening.
Strings are really not that bad, but waiting for a shipment of 12 string Electric strings, they are not real common. I might start buying individual string to make my own sets.

I've ordered Gold clear water transfer decals. The one I have on there now the background color doesn't quite match.

Thank you guys, I'm beginning to find, You can build as good, or better guitars then you can buy, factory made. For less Money. Wish I could do acoustics.
I could not have done it without Danny's advice and encouragement.
Thanks again;

Thank you, it's much easier when you have good support like this site. Once you have the basics down, it gets much easier.

A 12-String for under $200 with a Sky Blue finish. It looks fun.
