the yellow sparkle strat is now completed. not the easiest color to flake, but it came out pretty decent.

Been following this thread with interest. I always felt that if you walk on stage with a sparkling guitar, you better have the chops to back it up.
Going to your gigs must be a blast, Jay. Are you in a band, play solo?

Re: Metal Flake Tele project SPARKLE! SPARKLE!
i do a solo and i love to rip it up on the guitar. i sing, play guitar, banjo, piano. been a fulltime solo act for over 25 years averaging 200 + gigs a year. on my youtube website, i have tons of guitar, banjo, piano, as well as singing. i've snagged a few lefty mosrites, so there are quite a few vids of those guitars lately. i also have gretsches, gibsons, as wells quite a few acoustics.
my sparkle guitars give the audience a teaser to what is about to happen when i start my gig. i make sure i play some hot stuff thru the night as well as my mellow stuff. i'm in SW Florida, i tend to cater to the 50-70 yr old private parties. they pay better then the bar scene and dont deal with outdoor gigs (weather sucks for outdoor gigs).
check out my youtube videos by searching for southpawjay
you may have to dig a bit to find my variety of styles, but i tried to post quite an array of stuff.
influences were (chet, roy clark, jerry reed, ventures, srv, eric clapton, santana, les paul, evh, satriani, eric johnson, tommy emmanuel, brent mason, david gilmour, joe walsh) and all have their own style that i can feed off of to make my style.
and lastly, i make my own backing tracks and like to carry my midi rig with me rather than just mp3s. i can edit on the fly and lengthen or shorten a song while its playing, change keys, as well as vamp anywhere in the song so i can talk without messing up the song. that cant be done with mp3s.
enough advertising, check me out
