next step was to trim down the thickness of the body down to 1 and 3/4 inches. which isn't the easiest thing to do without a thickness planner. even if I had one, it would be difficult to use with the neck already attached to the guitar. so in order to do this I used another piece of wood cut to 1 and 3/4's and used it as a guide and used my router to remove the excess wood.

in no time it began to clean up nicely.

after sanding with the obital sander i switched over to the bench top belt sander. :)

after all the major routing was complete I sprayed down the bown with water to raise the grain.

so the next day when it was dry I could sand it and get out a lot of sanding marks cause from using the heavier duty sanders.
