next step was to trim down the thickness of the body down to 1 and 3/4 inches. which isn't the easiest thing to do without a thickness planner. even if I had one, it would be difficult to use with the neck already attached to the guitar. so in order to do this I used another piece of wood cut to 1 and 3/4's and used it as a guide and used my router to remove the excess wood.

here's what she looked like after the routing. not pretty, but that's what sanders are for

in no time it began to clean up nicely.





after sanding with the obital sander i switched over to the bench top belt sander.

drilling the output jack hole.

began routing the control cavity.

rough cut the cavity for the back plates

after all the major routing was complete I sprayed down the bown with water to raise the grain.









so the next day when it was dry I could sand it and get out a lot of sanding marks cause from using the heavier duty sanders.
