I been meaning to show the forum this guitar for a while now. This is a build my brother did. It was his take on a mutant of a squier super sonic (his main axe) a fender mustang, jaguar, and a mosrite ventures 2 (slab body) recently I brought it into my shop for a little work.

the finish is based on the old fender color ocean turquoise and it's in nitrocellulose lacquer. I don't believe it's offered through reranch, and he found the color through a company that made reproduction old car paints that has since gone out of business. enjoy the pics.

and the headstock. I forgot to get a front shot, but it's just a replacement fender neck. the body is basswood.

string through body like a tele, mustang bridge, mint pickguard. he also came up with the idea of the center screw hole on the body and the color choice was an ode to 60's fenders. the bridge pickup is a 59er, and the bridge is a JB from seymour duncan. originally he had it set up with stacked pots (volume and tone for each) but he ask me to switch them out to standard pots and just make in a volume volume set up. the bridge volume in the front and the neck volume in the back, just like the squier supersonics.

we were playing around with the idea of making another with a neck more like a mosrite, and make the body with a german carve. we'll see....

That's a pretty nifty guitar, How does it play with barre chords? I could do with a pic of the whole guitar from the front.

Very cool build! This body would look great as a side jack.

Just by the setup and appearance, it would be my guess the axe sounds very similar to an LP. What would you say it sounds closest to.
