Doing more research, I discovered the body is that of a USA Peavey Predator. It has an alder body with a maple vaneer on both sides. I'll know when I go to do the hardtail conversion

I once found a Yamaha acoustic twelve-string in a garbage can.

All it needed was some set-up and new strings. I did the work cleaned it up and played it for several years before selling it...couldn't help getting images of some scorned young lady "cleaning out" her digs, but hey, free is FREE!

as a practical joke my ex-girlfriend one time took my mosrite VII and put in a trash can. it was a brand new clean bag so no harm done, she did it just to mess with me, but then again there's a reason why she's my ex-girlfriend...

I stripped the body tonight and it turned out to be a 2-piece poplar body and it has a hairline crack about 6" long but it doesn't go all the way through the body. If the rain holds off tomorrow I'm going to sand the body and see what everything looks like.
